I have left my basket made of woodpecker feathers

My brothers and sisters have a part of me

Never mind no one sees me

I am free

I move back and forth to my house in the meadow

Never mind I travel slowly

I am safe

Following my father as he goes

I move back and forth to my house in the meadow

Never mind I am alone

I am happy

Seeing my children at night in the sky

That is how the seven sisters became the Big Dipper and how their many children became the many other stars, and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren became the stars of the Milky Way. And that is how we got the four long seasons: winter, spring, summer, and fall, instead of just one cold winter week each year as before. Warm Wind moves slowly, following the Sun as he moves north to south and then back again each year.

As for the Bat Brothers, they remain forever lost and confused, looking for their wives and children. They fly around all night without looking up. And during the day, they hang upside down looking up when their wives and children are not in the sky. As for Mole, he redeemed himself and garnered Warm Wind’s affections once more. They are both old now, but come spring and summer when Warm Wind is in the meadow, they often visit and at night look up at their many children and grandchildren.
